Scholarship recipient Sarah Fergione knew she had found the right place to finish her college education when she visited the science labs at Missouri Western. Sarah, a senior biochemistry and molecular biology major from Connecticut, loved the high-tech instrumentation she saw in Remington Hall. And when she found out she could jump right in and conduct research with professors, she immediately enrolled.
That hands-on experience in the labs and her opportunity to conduct research with faculty helped Sarah secure a three-month internship in laboratories at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston last summer.
Every day, students like Sarah are able to excel and achieve their goals because of assistance from the Foundation.
The Foundation provides that “extra edge” to help high-achieving students like Sarah prepare for their careers after graduation.
Because Missouri Western is the only designated applied learning university in the state, they excel at helping students learn by doing beyond the classroom.
Every day, it helps students succeed, because it supports extra learning opportunities for students.
